It drives my wife nuts - she's working on her masters out at UAS and the course is pretty much all via the internet. When it goes down in the middle of a class it really impacts her. FWIW, we're out in the valley across from Riverbend school. I tracerouted with and without name resolution. On one of them with resolution the trace stalled at the 209.193.63.157 hop. Don't know if the problem was temporarily at that hop or at the DNS box (or in between). But the DNS request timed out at that point.
