OK - I did the steps you outlined. I'm using the Exodus client. When =
I try
to search using LocalJUD I get the following messages in the XML debug
window:

SENT: <iq id=3D"jcl_33" to=3D"LocalJUD" type=3D"get"><query
xmlns=3D"jabber:iq:search"/></iq>
RECV: <iq id=3D"jcl_33" to=3D"hudlerh@xxxxxxxxxxx/Exodus" =
type=3D"error"
from=3D"LocalJUD"><query xmlns=3D"jabber:iq:search" /><error =
code=3D"504">No such
host is known</error></iq>

When I used the IP address of the Joey server (10.68.17.76) I get a 501
error (Not implemented)

SENT: <iq id=3D"jcl_34" to=3D"10.68.17.76" type=3D"get"><query
xmlns=3D"jabber:iq:search"/></iq>
RECV: <iq id=3D"jcl_34" to=3D"hudlerh@xxxxxxxxxxx/Exodus" =
type=3D"error"
from=3D"10.68.17.76"><query xmlns=3D"jabber:iq:search" /><error =
code=3D"501">Not
Implemented</error></iq>

If I use the clients "Browse the server" feature I can see the LocalJUD =
as
an icon with a hand under it (representing a service) but the browser =
lists
only the following as valid namespaces:

Jabber:client
Jabber:iq.browse
Jabber:iq.time
Jabber:iq.version

I will try to find the client you are using and try that so I am at =
least
comparing apples to apples.

Well... If you ask about the internal JUD of Joey v023, I can help =
you.=3D20

The internal JUD works fine, I use it since 2 month, but there is no
dedicated configuration screen yet. So you have to use the Component
configuration screen, and a little trick.=3D20

In the configuration screen, go to the Component tab.
Type the value of the new component, like
        Name: LocalJUD
        JID : jud.myhost.net
        Port: 1 (trick to specify 'internal jud')
        Secret:
        Service Type: JUD
        Description: This is the directory of local users of myhost.net
        Generate the agents and browse entry, should be ok
        Add the service with the Add button, and continue configuration.

Now the jud should be running and be ready to answer request from =3D
clients.
With Rhymbox, you have to add a contact, seach for someone in =3D
'LocalJUD',
type a part of the name (a space works and mean everybody). With others
clients, you may have to use the Jabber Browser and navigate to the
LocalJUD.

Has anyone been able to figure out how to get the JUD (Jabber User
Directory) working with JOEY?  Help!
