Just checking, online, whether my button Transmit allocations have worked.
Firstly, with no UK controllers on at this unearthly hour, I tuned to the Amsterdam frequency. Got the same Text Only message. Pressing the Cowl keys produced a buzzzz, o the allocation must have worked.
No ATC listed in the Within Range window, though I'd have thought Amsterdam might. Tuning to any of the listed, though out of range, positions produced no traffic messages, sound or text. Does a station have to be within range to be contactable?

Could the fact that Scottish was Text Only on mine mean your problem was outside your own setup?
The ASRC software is totally different as there isn't any obvious voice
options in it. There's a menu option for calibration and that's it. When I
connect I have no idea what voice server I have logged on to except by
checking ServInfo - which showed me on a completely different location that
all the other UK controllers.
I'll bet the settings are out of date as the file is still dated 2003 and
the only way to find out what has changed is to wade through two years of
forum postings.. :(

I think it may be working, after accepting Default settings of Scroll Lock and F12. Not what I want but beggars can't be choosers. Just have to get myself reprogrammed.

Been to that screen, several times, but the key select panels are greyed out.
I think you need to hit the Set button?
