Hang on a second while I stick my head in a bucket of nasty stuff.
    Definitely brain cell depletion today.
I didn't spot the 24DD entry for USB2 first time round...

            Quite easy!

Rick click on My Computer>Properties>Device manager.

Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus, then expand the
menu, there will probably be lots of entries in there
however read them all, one is a main controller for the
others, if you see the word "Enhanced" anywhere then its
USB 2.0, if not then it isnt.

            Simple eh?

Well, that's probably true, but I'd like to know what my
USB ports are before I buy the USB2 device - is there
any diagnostic I can run that will tell me?
