Slight confusion of terms here maybe. ATC tend to use this term to denote a
twin on one engine but I don't know if it has spread to other parts of the
aviation community.

Not an "assymetric approach", but a twin engined aircraft with
only one engine.  Fortunately I didn't have to try that in a PA28
:-)
