Thanks for that - I'll have a hunt around the Net for something like it. I
used to have a copy of Sysoft Sandra on an earlier PC which would test most
items on a system but it appears to have fallen by the wayside.

Anyone got suggestions as to how you can verify the operation of mobo,
memory or CPU as individual items?

One of our chaps at work has a memory test on CD, I think it was a freebie
he downloaded, you boot the machine from the CD and it checks all memory. I
will ask him tomorrow.
He tracked down an intermitent failure on a troublesome PC by running it for
a while. Replaced a memory stick and it worked perfectly.
