Somewhere in the depths of Win XP is the data on your USB load together =
the limit for each device. It's one of the reasons why I got rid of the =
4 port Belkin hubs - even though powered I was using too many high load
items in them.

If I ever get round to rebuilding the computer it will give me more =
- the current mobo only has two USB ports but the new one has six. I =
that one or two USB devices don't like hubs at all and prefer being =
directly into the mobo.

Thanks, I'll try that.
The puzzle is that it's haapened suddenly, also that I've tried: =
into another port, in the same USB Hub. ditto but without the cable.
removing one of the other six on the PC and plugging into there. I =
if I might have reached a maximum USB load. The only change since last =
worked OK is that I've plugged in the receiver for my new wireless =
and mouse.
