Very strange, sounds almost as if somehow your data flow is being interupted, or the cache is overflowing.

Still think that using a spare drive to set up a clean machine, would help to point out a hardware or software fault. Assuming you have one suitable.

Have you tried resetting your BIOS? just a thought??

Is it the machine pawsing or the software?
