Is there any other program that lists variables like FS so that calculations
could be tested on it?

When I started gauge building I looked at standard XML tutorials and quickly
discovered that FS uses
its own unique version of the language. One source I came across said "XML
is a text manipulation
language and does not do calculations", so why was it the language of choice
for FS I wonder. (FS
XML does stack operations, which is a lower level version of calculations in
essence, but I don't
know whether standard XML does).
