You're not wrong! See the reply I'd just sent before your post arrived.

Are you looking at the right scenery.cfg file?

IIRC the scenery.cfg file may now be with the FS.cfg file in each users
settings folder rather than in the FSX folder. Again I may be wrong here.

Very odd.
I tried adding Canaries, via the Addon Scenery. The new scenery was to
be seen from th airport but wasn't listed in Scenery.cfg.
Next I moved the Canaries folder to a different drive and edited the
Library path. In its ne location it still worked but still no sign in
Scenery.cfg

OK - I'll shut up. I was trying to second guess the problem but with
not having FSX here I can't give any real help. No doubt I'll hit the
same problem myself when I come to install the thing... <g>

The self installed Horizon GenerationX is installed without being in
the Addon Scenery folder.

Do you have the option not to use the Add-On Scenery folder for your
own stuff? I never used this in FS9 because all my scenery was on a
different drive.

Since some of the farmstrips have unrealistic troughs running through
them, when running the FSX Horizon package. What I'd decided to do was
use the original VFR GM mesh when flying to or from strips. At other
times I'd use the "more accurate" Horizon mesh.

The easy way to handle the two mesh approach would be to have access
to two saved Scenery.cf files. One would have been saved with one mesh
active, the other version when the alternative mesh was active. Simple
and an approach I've used in FS9 to control the volume of addon
scenery active.

But, getting to the point, when I look in FSX's Scenery.cfg file none
of my addon scenery is listed, even though it works. Could it be that
it activates all scenery folders sitting within the Addon Scenery
folder?

I can't think of any other solution. Any ideas folks?
