When I first flew on IVAO I thought it would be a shame not to be seen in the
VA's colours, whether ours or whoever's.
The more I fly on-line the less of an issue it has become, now I don't worry
the slightest. Its nice to see yourself from the spot view flying in the VA's
colours, but over and above that it's irrelevant
I'm seen in BMi Baby's colours when in the Fokker on-line, I'm not aware of
anyone actually noticing or commenting, and in any case the ATC guys only see a
blip and some information as to your call sign, your height, speed and
direction. Its the fact you ARE on-line which is the point
Not said quite as eloquently as you, John, but you know where I'm coming from

I forgot to mention the online issue.
The repaints I provide are so you can select a JHB colour scheme for the
aircraft you are flying in FS. In other words if you jump to chase plane mode
you’ll see the JHB livery on your aircraft.
If you go online to fly the aircraft data isn’t transmitted. The textures sets
and the modelling for many aircraft are far too complex and would overload the
system. Each online service produces a library of low poly designs and the
aircraft representing your flight is determined from the aircraft type you
select in the flight plan. In other words if you are flying a Baron in FS but
accidentally choose the C172 on your flight plan then all IVAO pilots will see
you as a C172.
It is possible to create JHB liveries for online flying. We did this in FPI and
we also have JHB liveries in VATSIM using their model library. I still have
folders in FS called VIP, VUK and Squawkbox but I forget what they are for. As
yet I’ve not tried creating any IVAO liveries for JHB- I presume nobody else
has either? The rules for adding repaints are quite tight and can be found at

Thanks for your comments and offer.
Perhaps I should give you a little background as to why I want to download and
install the following items;
737-400 Full download
Cessna C172 Texture set
Fokker 100 Tay 650-15. Texture set
All of which are in JHB livery.
I am not happy flying in aircraft online which are not in the livery of the
airline of which I am flying.
Its fair to say that where the technical side of computors are concerned I am a
complete novice so I would be more than happy to join you on Skype at whatever
time is suitable to you. I am happy for you to use TeamViewer.

The best thing to do is open the zip file with Winzip and then look in the list
of files it shows for a readme or installation guide. Each designer should
recommend where you install their files – some are automatic and some may
require you place certain files in certain folders.
Some zipped files need extracting to an exact folder so that they create the
correct nesting of sub folders in the correct place.
If you really get stuck and you don’t mind me fiddling with your PC we can use
Skype and TeamViewer to get the files into the right place.

I wonder if anyone can help me, I have recently installed WinZip and have been
able to download aircraft to a folder I have named " Unzipped Aircraft". When I
have tried to move any of the aircraft to FS9 aircraft folder I have not been
able to do so and in fact have crashed my computer twice.
I have also tried to download scenery with the same results.
If anyone could give me some advise I would be most grateful.
