That looks like a plan. I'll join in as soon as I catch up after my hols.

I list my full itinerary below. Re photoscenery - there is a freeware utility for X-Plane (Ortho4XP) which creates photoscenery from satellite imagery, all at zero cost, with amazing results: see attached screenshot taken near EGPT (Perth).

Flight sim has always had many choices - 25 years ago we had FS4, Sublogic/ATP, Fly!, Flight Unlimited. The current range of sims can present some challenges to configure for optimum performance - but assistance with every aspect is available either on the forums or videos on Youtube.

FSX 32 Bit, P3D v4 64Bit, FSX Steam,X Plane 11, etc ;so many choices I'm flipping confused and saddened that a lovely hobby has become more difficult to setup and enjoy online flying. 😢 Fred D207

Mind you, it will probably take me as long to complete my tour as it will for the Brexit negotiations since I'm not doing a huge amount of flying at the moment. However, by devising this tour, I am hoping to get things going again.

I will be using X-Plane 11 and the Alabeo PA44 Seminole throughout, and starting/finishing at EGNS. Some of the central European legs will be very short (as little as 30nm or so), while those across the Med and Turkey will be upwards of 500nm. Total distance for my itinerary is a tad over 6500nm.

My usage of X-P has gradually increased as it has matured, particularly since it went 64-bit 3-4 years ago. It's some time since I dumped FSX in favour of P3D but, since X-P11's release last November it is now largely unused and I have resisted the siren call to upgrade to P3D v4. AFAIK Frank Fisher is the only other JHB X-P convert.

Hello all
It seems quite some time since we had a JHB post - so I thought I would drop by with news of my cunning plan for a GA tour of the 28 EU states before UK cuts itself adrift and sinks somewhere mid-Atlantic. Mind you, it will probably take me as long to complete my tour as it will for the Brexit negotiations since I'm not doing a huge amount of flying at the moment. However, by devising this tour, I am hoping to get things going again.
My idea is to have one, and only one, stop in each EU country, and as far as possible visiting provincial airports and avoiding capital cities (only Valletta, Riga and Luxembourg).
As most of you know, I have been dabbling with X-Plane since v5 (I think I was the first JHB pilot to use it). My usage of X-P has gradually increased as it has matured, particularly since it went 64-bit 3-4 years ago. It's some time since I dumped FSX in favour of P3D but, since X-P11's release last November it is now largely unused and I have resisted the siren call to upgrade to P3D v4.
