There is a good chance that the Office Norton Plug in is causing this
inconvenience. By any chance does this user open their documents by
locating them in the My Documents folder and press enter on them? Most
cases if one opens documents from the open dialog box the unable to read
problem does not happen. If there is no changing the user on how they
open saved documents you might try this little work around. After
pressing enter on a document and Word launches use the minimize all
applications keyboard command to put focus on the desk top and then
switch back to MS Word with ALT plus tab.
Hope this helps get around this.

trying to help a friend, over phone and distance,
, running, xp pro and 4.50, and office 10, and Norton 2004,=20
when opening a already, saved document
cannot read one word, or one line down, can only read with jaws cursor

if he opens a new document,=20
it is fine, can read one word or one line, and do what is needed to do,

but after it is saved and closed, and reopened it is just like all the
other documents in my documents,
unable to read correctly

my quick fix, to solve in the short term=20

open a new document, which is ok,=20
then open with control o,
and look for the document=20
wanted, which will read ok,

Norton is updated, but when we looked around in it, couldn't find
miscellaneous, and uncheck office plug in??

the only thing new recently, introduced to computer
was floppy disk
can it be a virus, or worm, that Norton didn't find with full system
scan??
