In Word 2002, the word count will do the entire document by default, that is
without highlighting it.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong. I was told that in order to receive
a word count of an entire document or partial document all text that you

In Word 2002, press alt + t, arrow down to word count, or just press
w,then tab down to show tool bar and press enter. The word count for the
document will be stated at that time. When back in the document you can
activate the jaws cursor, go to the top of the page, arrow down until you
hear the word count and recount. If you wish to count the words in part
of the document, just highlight that part, and place your jaws cursor on
recount and do a left mouse button. I hope this helps.
