It is starting when the computer starts. I am sure, because I rebooted the
computer and went to go read a book, and then a few minutes later, someone
tried to im me and succeeded. When I look in the list of running applications,
it doesn't show up as running and it also doesn't appear in the system tray
with my Norton and SETI programs that are always running.

Is it starting when your computer starts, are you sure, or is it starting
when Outlook starts?
Regardless, if it's running, you'll see it in your sys tray.
