Sorry but no, we're talking about the stand-alone American Heritage talking dictionary and thesaurus not the one from Kurzweil. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dorothy Ingram-Gorban To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 1:06 PM Subject: Re: win7 Jaws and talking dictionary Hallo there, I have that dictionary as part of Kurzweil and updated also a Medical Encl., I think Mary someone I try not to read it to be honest, I got as far as knowing you had malaria out there in I forget which state until not so long ago, thing was addictive! Sorry but the American heritage version that is truly accessible has been out of the market for a very long time now. It is the best writing tool I've ever had. I still have the original disk but is scratched and good thing is I made not one but two backups. Right now I'm looking for something similar that I can use with windows7 and I'm even willing to dish-out big money if only I could find something as good and friendly as the American Heritage. I'm still using XP and JAWS 9, so it should work for me. It might be a good alternative/addition to dictionary.com and such. Good luck finding something for your new system. Thanks. Since windows 3.1 I've been using a really nice and Jaws friendly talking dictionary which is American heritage v3.5 and I've used it until XP. Just got a new computer with windows 7 today and of course I cannot install it anymore. I have windows 7 home but am willing to upgrade to pro if it would make it work again. But the really good thing is if I were to find a speech friendly dictionary and thesaurus that will work with win7 off the box.
