I run 2 sound cards here and know many people who do for various reasons and 
with XP, you should have no problems. It's possible, but you shouldn't.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I assume the fourth line in the jfw.ini
file concerning Eloquence appears only if there is more than one sound card
present. This would seem to be the case since, in none of my machines,
regardless of operating systems, do I find any reference to a port
assignment for the soft synth.

When using two sound cards with xp, for example, an operating system that
handles conflicts and irq assignments quite well, am I likely to run into
any other kinds of difficulties?
