I did try the script copying idea for msword scripts used with open office
writer, and when I loaded open office, the scripts did load but man I got a lot
of call to function errors tro the point that it was unusable.

  Mike,

I think that if there are no scripts developed for Open Office Writer, then
Insert+v just brings up the options for the default configuration, and
therefore much more limited than those for MS-Word.

  Here's a suggestion:

  Launch Open Office Writer
  Insert + 6
When prompted to create a new configuration file, accept it.
Determine the filename now created - it will be something.CFG.
Using that same "something" as your guide, make a copy of all the MS-Word
configuration files in your user settings folder and give each one the
something name with the appropriate extension.
  e.g. something.jfd, something.jkm, something.jbs, something.jss, etc.

Then try running Open Office Writer again and see if you have access to any
more JAWS commands and options. Caveat Emptor -- They may not work but it's
worth a try.

    hey guys:
does anyone know if i can use the scripts from microsoft word with open
office writer? it seems that when i hit insert-v in open office writer, i don't
get the same options that i get when using msword on another computer?
i want to see the indent indicator, font, cursor position in inches and so
