using msword scripts with open office

hey guys:
does anyone know if i can use the scripts from microsoft word with open office
writer? it seems that when i hit insert-v in open office writer, i don't get
the same options that i get when using msword on another computer?
i want to see the indent indicator, font, cursor position in inches and so on.
