Patricia, You say the person is blind/visually impaired and that person wants plain text. What that indicates to me is that they are not using a screen reader and instead rely primarily on viewing the screen using specific fonts and/or colours. If you send a plain text email, the colours and fonts are dictated by the recipient; if you send an HTML email the colours and fonts are set by you. Maybe that's the issue, but as someone else said, perhaps you could ask the person involved why they need plain text. Regarding your Outlook question, I can think of two options. First is to move to another folder and then back. second is to use the shortcut Alt + I; this is a toggle that can be used in place of F3 to turn the Find pane on and off. I can't help with Adobe Acrobat; I only use the Reader. I suspect that is true of the majority of people, which may explain the lack of response to your original question. I just found out on another group that I am on that there is a person who is blind/visually impaired. when I wrote a message to the group (replying to that particular message) I got a response back asking me if I could resubmit that message in plain text, because all that person could see was their message and the original message posted. I did both of these messages from the gmail website. why is it that this person needs messages in plain text? can't all screen readers read html? (I saw that we had to have things set to plain text on the JAWS list information e-mail). why is this, if JAWS seems to read all text in html just fine? or at least, it does for me. now, an Outlook question. whenenever I want to find a message (by doing f3) I get the list of messages that I want, as per usual. my question is, do I have to close the program and then re-open it just to get back to all messages from everyone not just this person? and this final question isn't so odd. I had made a post awhile back about Adobe Acrobat and JAWS and its acessibility but didn't get any response. how accessible is Adobe Acrobat and JAWS? I've seen the help file which talks about Acrobat/Acrobat Reader, but there is no distiction between the two or so it seems in the help file. Thanks for any help. P.S. as I suspected, my show hidden files was enabled, and I still don't have an application data folder. weird, but I've delbt with it for this long, I guess it shouldn't be a problem to deal with it some more. -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
