two jaws problems

Hi.
I've got two jaws prolems.
1. speech synthesizer.
When using the start jaws automatically, my infovox desktop standard from
acapela group speaks.
but when starting jaws manually it doesn't speak at all.
What ccan this be?
2. braille display
I'm using a braille voyager display.
When starting jaws automatically I get no status cells, but when starting
manually I get them.
What is this?
