I wonder, about that, time zones, why is it so popular to call C U T,
(coordinated universal time," "UTC, when it is not UTC but C U T? :)
<grin> GMT or "Zulu" time is "Greenwich mean time," so why isn't
coordinated universal time just called "C U T,?"
Universal would be better than UTC, oh well, semantics I know.

You're not going to like my answer, but here it is anyway. Memorize the time zone difference. Memorize that eastern is three hours ahead of Pacific, for example. Once you've done this a few times you'll find it second-nature.
