I was once researching se Greek and Roman mythology and ever so often the computer would just die when scanning down my email list. Now I understand what happened, it was the fatal "a E" combo... I will inquire if Window Eyes version of Elequence does the same thing. Dave Hutchins Fw: typing error) I just realized something. The culprit isn't the wrd, but the dipthong a e (I was careful not to type them without a space). a couple of years ago, I had this problem in Jaws with the word (spell it out letter by letter; I'm afraid it may still cause trouble for someone) a e s t h e t i c. The problem was those two letters, not the specific word in which they appear. Hope this helps, strategically. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Feist" <ccfeist@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 9:18 AM Subject: RE: jaws quits on the word c a e s u r e it knocks out jaws, could someone find out what makes certain words do this? Dave Hutchins Fw: typing error Hi. Could you tell us how you set it up so the offending word does not crash JAWS for you? I'd be very interested in making the same adjustments. Is this something you can do in Dictionary Manager? Dave Hutchins Fw: typing error actually you're right. The originator wrote "the following screws up Jaws" then proceeds to type it with no spaces, so as not to cause anyone else's JAWS with Eloquence synthesizer from doing the same, while still showing us the word. Fortunately, I have come across this evil spelling of the word in other places, so have made definitions to say it the right way. This is a huge error in Eloquence, and the company who created the synthe either doesn't know, or doesn't care to fix it or post how this can be done, other than to make dictionary entries to replace the original spelling with a modified one. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Eugene Baroni Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 7:40 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: jaws quits on the word c a e s u r e it knocks out jaws, could someone find out what makes certain words do this?
