Hi Robert,

Could you please do the following test with Jaws 7 without using Insert + F11?

Test #1: Windows behavior via its own keystrokes.

Tab to your System Tray and see if Jaws 7 is able to read all listed icons. Since Jaws 6 is able to detect all of them, this test should be successful.

Test #2: Jaws 7 Virtual Viewer.

View the System Tray items using Control + Shift + F11. Normally, Jaws 7 should list all items and read them. If Jaws is able to detect all items then we have a consistency problem because Insert F11 doesn't work properly. Here, I would revisit my Configuration Manager, check related settings, and further troubleshoot. If Jaws 7 doesn't detect all items, then I would simply consider repairing or re-installation.

In case of total failure, I would check any update for my video driver, check my Windows settings and updates, and finally, FS will be my last resort.

When I load jaws 7 and check my system trey by using insert f11 jaws will
identify one or two items, and not jaws itself.  If I simply unload jaws 7
and load jaws 6 it will identify several more programs that are present on
the sys trey.  Any suggestions as to why jaws 7 does not work properly and a
possible solution.  I am running XPHome, on a dell inspiron laptop  with an
ATI Mobility radeon 9200 vid card.
