Thanks you mean I am not alone? I only have it on windows 7 however and the
alt and F4,normally my way out of difficulty seems to turn Jaws off,normally
only the insert key and F4 turned Jaws off, I found the tip about using the
alt and C key helped me,however I have moved back to old xp pc Jaws 11 to
reply,hope this arrives in a readable state not with headers cut off sorry
all am trying to sort it out Dorothy

I have this problem, too, Dorothy.
I don't know what the heck is the reason.
And sometimes those dialog boxes don't speak except if I get the JAWS
cursor in there to read the text in the box. Sometimes I can find the
Close box or cancel Box and use that..
But here is how I also often close those dialog boxes.
It seems to work just about every time.
I do an ALT+SPACEBAR. You can up and down arrow for the choices. I usually
just type C to close.
The other choices in this menu are: X for Maximize, N for Minimize, M for
Move, or sometimes R for Restore.

Dear list, using desktop win7,Office 7, I find I am often stuck in an
open dialogue box and unable to get out fast please which are the best
key strokes to use to close a dialogue box my xp laptop using Jaws 11
does not do this, I am sure it must be my fault but any
advise would come in handy Incidentally opening attachments in win 7
office 7 is quite a palaver, on desktop on xp Jaws 11 Outlook express is
very simple, I am comparing them on same attachment so like with like
