All of you have been extremely helpful in answering my questions. Much thanks to all, Judith ----- Original Message ----- From: Pickrell, Rebecca M. This is great for laptops but doesn't do anything extra except cause annoyance with desktops. Also, JFW and standby don't generally play well at least in my experience. It's your computer so you can do what you want. If you like standby, you can set it it in the control pannel under power options. Likewise if you don't like standby you can turn it off entirely and have the computer never go into standby mode. This is what works best for me. Hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, July 07, 2005 2:38 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: stand by I have no idea, I don't know what "stand by" means. I just know I disabled something that was working on the computer. That doesn't make it right, it just makes it there. We disabled stand by and I was wondering if we made a mistake. If I really goofed can someone tell me how to get "stand by" back? Thanks, Judith
