RE: software vs. hardware synthesizers - was - Re: Bug Fixes in JAWS 6.0

Well I had 512MB RAM and about 256MHZ Processors. Running at once I had
a copy of WinAmp with the Audio stocker and SHOUTcast plugin, Microsoft
Outlook, SHOUTcast DNAS (GUI), BVentrilo and the Ventrilo Server, and a
copy of JFW. This slowed down the system quite a bit.

Ok, this is the first opinion which strongly prefers one to another for
other than subjective reasons, and I appreciate it.

Would you say the system you were using when you made the switch was
unusually slow, short of ram, or overloaded with processing tasks?

Thanks.
