Depends. IF you're loged in automatically, then it's after. IF you get a
log on screen, before.

It's after for me; and, that is as it should be.

Subject: should jaws start up before or after log on is complete?

Hi everyone, thanks to Ray I finally got my laptop to log on automatically.
My question is when should jaws start up. I have been so used to jaws
starting up before log in because I've always had to press enter to log in,
but now that it does this automatically, should jaws speak and be loaded
before the computer logs in or after it logs in. Right now Jaws doesn't come
on until some time after I've logged in. Thanks.
