I was just about to reply to skeeptical and say I tried it and it
worked. Good deciphering and interpreting on your part.

Jerry,
that was a good guess! You're right. If you check the box so that the
voice
selections come up, then change the voice but then shift tab back to
that
check box and uncheck it-- and, of course, save the changes properly--
next
time you use the alt/insert/down arrow command, it'll use the voice you
last
chose. Thanks for the suggestion.

That is cool. I didn't know the alternative say all command, alt, Jaws
key, down arrow would use the sapi voice. I would suppose that to change
that voice would be to change it in configuration manager, say all,
check the use sapi 5, find the voice you want to use and then uncheck
that box.

Ted,
What do you mean, it doesn't work? Immediately upon reading Lois's
earlier
post, I control-homed to the top of that email, pressed alt Insert down
arrow, and one of those voices commenced reading in Say All. Sorry if I
didn't explain that clearly enough. The command certainly does work, for
me.
I only wanted to know how to switch voices for it.

There's one problem with this method, it doesn't work, and I've tried it
on two different machines. This would be the best way to use the
RealSpeak voices, if it worked.

Hi Lois,

Thanks so much for reminding me the keystroke for invoking the RealSpeak

voice for Say All, as opposed to setting it to be the default. I'd read
it
in the instructions, somewhere, but forgotten it, and I prefer this
approach.

But I wonder if you could explain how to deliberately choose one of the
voices for this purpose? I've been to the Say All part of the
Configuration
Manager settings, and I know how to choose a voice if I'm making SAPI 5
the
Say All default. But, from what I've seen there, if you don't check to
enable the SAPI 5 option for Say All as default, then you won't be
presented
with a list of voices from which to choose.

So, is there a way I can fix it so that pressing alt insert down arrow
will
engage one of the other voices besides that American male voice that
came up
when I tried this out just now?

Thanks.

For the alternate say all, press alt, insert, down arrow.
