Re: run from system tray setting

I've found out how to make JAWS start automatically without having to start it first. This is only in windows xp I think. there is a command called sc. It allows you to work with windows xp services. Anyways, when the JFWService is created, the automatically start JAWS checkbox is checked. When the service isn't there, the checkbox isn't checked. This info is useful to me, because I'm making automated windows and software installation disks.

Thanks,
Blake

Appreciate your help; I'm going to try this out and see if I like it.
Nothing like saving keystrokes!

Either way works. JAWS key plus J is probably your quicker bet.

Thanks, Bruce!

So, if I want to change JAWS settings, I need to go to the system tray to open JAWS?

Or just hit Ins-J?

The run JAWS on startup box and the system tray box really have nothing to
do with each other. Teh advantage of running JAWS form the system tray is
that it's out of the way when you're alt-tabbing through windows. It puts
JAWS nicely in the background so you can concentrate on your applications.
