I don't want anyone unfamiliar with the personalities on this list to become
disillusioned or, worse, give up based on such negative blasts. We can all
criticize facets of JAWS, but most of us are here because it mostly works.

Adrian, my desition is based not only on this failed command. In fact, I will
be really stupid if that was my only reason. My desition of switching to Apple
comes due months of research, testing and a lot of other reasons not applicable
on this list. I will continue to use jaws and windows, but my primary will be
Apple. But alas, you guys still need to keep up with me for at least a year or
so more. lol.

for anyone new to the list, this thread is about an unimportant JAWS command
that we can live without. It shouldn't lead to wholesale disenchantment with
JAWS. I, for one, won't be switching to Apple any time soon.

Foiled again! ( lol)Each time I use jaws and windows and an error message
appears, it crashes or it does the exact opposite that I want it to do, it is
just one more reason to kick my computer to the trash and get a Mac and only
use windows for one thing or another.

Yadiel, Of course it went to the list, what would you expect? (LOLLOLLOLLOL)

I was lucky and got the one time today the reply to sender was going to work.

that is why I will soon move windows and FS into a square 2 and make Apple my
primary system. I wll only use windows to do formating and windows specific
tasks. BTW: I pressed the reply to sender. Sorry if this goes to the list.

Rick,

Well, as one might suspect, I tried the “reply to sender” just to prove a point
and, I’ll be DogGonned, it worked. (stunned face)

Oh well, that’s life in the Wonderful World of W7 and FS.

RE:

The real killer is when JAWS dutifully reports “replying to sender”. You think,
Aha, got it whipped – until – you take a look at the “to” field and find the
email address of the group. (LOLLOLLOL)

This has been true from JAWS 9 forward and through XP, Vista and W7.

Life is fun, enjoy it.

The real killer is right!

It seems so very often JAWS will say something, only for me to find out later
that it was not actually true. I usually blame myself, but sometimes I feel
JAWS just tries to fool me. I think it is like repeating the previous thing it
is highlighted upon. Such as a message, or a selected item. To be sure I
often have to take the extra time to go back and forth on items. But I know.
JAWS is not a sentient being. I am. So I try to take solace in that. Medium
is the message?

Okay, I may be on to something here (and, maybe not <lol>).

I took Dave's message as an example, and tried insert+shift+r. Jaws (or
outlook) tried to send the message back to the list. This is not what I wanted.

I then added Dave's name to my address book and tried again. Voilla! It tried
to send a message to Dave.

I am using 32-bit windows/xp home and outlook express with jaws 12 v252 (I
think).

Douglas:

Nice instructions, but you did not specify which email client in which you
would use those instructions.

As someone has pointed out, each email client has its own method of performing
this function.

Once you find out who sent the message, go to Tools, add to address book,
sender, enter twice to add to addressbook, then forward or send a new message
to the name of the actual sender you just added to the addressbook.

Thanks for the info. And how do we reply to someone off-list---Some people put
their personal e-mail in the list message; others do not. Didnt know if I was
once again missing something.

Hi,

If you need a new watch, talking or Braille, I would suggest you visit the
following site:

http://www.futureaids.com

Their prices are very good and they do not charge for shipping.

Several folks on another list have replied to me saying that they have used
this company and that the products are as advertised and the return policy is
also good.

Hi List,

My Braille and talking watches are dead. Im ashamed to say I cant remember
how to find out what time it is using my computer, which has JAWS 11 with
Windows 7. I remember at one time many moons ago control t got me the time,
but someone must have set that up for me. Can someone help?

Thank you in advance.
