Mostafa,

You can set JAWS to announce "cap" for individual capitalized letters and "all caps" for capitalized words when you use the Say All command to read a document. To do this, go to the Say All Options dialog on the Set Options menu of the JAWS Configuration Manager, tab to the Indicate Caps box and check it. This works only for reading and not for typing. Other than adjusting the pitch change for caps on the JAWS Voices submenu or turning it off in the Text Options dialog of the Configuration Manager Set Options menu, there are no other options for dealing with caps pronunciation.

Good morning Mostafa,

I think what Bruce meant here is that this is not an issue about how JAWS
pronounces upper case characters, it is an issue of the behaviour that JAWS
performs with upper case characters.

Bruce is correct, although you can adjust how JAWS pronounces upper case
characters you cannot (to the best of my knowledge) adjust how JAWS treats upper case characters. So, unfortunately you cannot make JAWS say the word
"cap" before an upper case character.

Everett

contact the list owner at jfw-admins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx I am not sure how to get JAWS to say capitals the way you want - I, Personally, would find it
supremely annoying. You can turn off the speaking of capitalis in a
higher
pitch by going into your JAWS menu, options, voices, global voices, and
turn uppercase change percent to 0.
