Hi,
I have removed windows messenger from the first time I had xp.. With no
adverse affects, unless you wish to use remote desktop.
I could be very wrong, but like I said I have not run into any problems
at all and I have had windows messenger removed from all 3 of my
systems for over 2 years now..
In fact I trim down my system substantially with a util called xplite.
Like removeing the out of box experience, go back to the old style of
search , plus so much else I cant remember.
But simply disabling it will more or less achieve the same thing really.
hth.

Hi there Belinda,
I don't recommend removing this, Windows messenger is attached to your
operating system and is no problem if you go in to the program and in
the
tools and options tell it not to come up on start up, just disable it
your
going to get more problems once you've removed it than you like
