hi, ok just open the jss file and hopefully the first line should be a comment that tells what the scripts are for. it would look something like the following ;scripts for program name Just for a brief explanation the jss file is source code or what the script author actually typed. it is compiled and that is where the jsb file comes from. It is a bionary file so only computers can read it. I don't really know anything about source code or bionary. I just want to know which program these script files pertain to. Thank you very much. But how come you're referring to the .jss file? that is what comes up when I open the script manger in that program, but the message I received was that the .jsb file needed to be recompiled... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roy Nickelson" <roylee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2005 5:07 PM Subject: Re: recompiling a script file hi,just open the .jss file in the script manager. the author of the script usually put a comment at the top of the file. Open the program that needs script compiling. Then prees insert 0 on the number row. Then press control s to recompile. Press alt f4 to close. I can't remember if you get a message asking you to confirm to save thee change, if you do just press enter on yes. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "JFW List" <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2005 4:23 PM Subject: recompiling a script file >I think someone mentioned how to do this earlier, but it was only a few > minutes ago that, for no reason I am aware of, I got what seemed like a > system message advising me that a particular Jaws script file in my > settings/enu folder needed to be recompiled in order to function properly > with something or other. > > I've gone to that folder in Windows Explorer and highlighted that script > file.
