radio station not working

hello list.
over the last few days i havve had some problems with my machine and have
subsequently lost some settings.
on my desktop i have a shortcut to a local radio station and when i go to open
it it reacts as normal, opening up windows media player.
unfortunately no sound is heard.
i went to the website and clicked on the link to listen live and it does
exactly the same thing.
does anyone know of any settings that might have been changed in internet
explorer or possibly windoes media player that is stopping this working?
hope to hear back soon as i really enjoy this station.
