Thanks Dave! That also got rid of that annoying new software message. Judith

  Hello Judith:

Your percentage problem is caused by the window where the percentage is
constantly being refreshed, thus causing JAWS to keep speaking the contents of
the window.

If you press JAWS KEY+S,twice, until JAWS says "none", this should stop JAWS
constantly telling you the percentage while you are in the chatroom.

Don't forget to press JAWS KEY+S once to have JAWS announce highlighted text
again.

Someone else on the list might have a better idea than this one.

  Sincerely:

  Dave Durber

I installed a piece of software to gain access to a chat room where I
wanted to hear a speaker. Since I installed it, everytime I press the windows
key I get the message, "New software installed." Also, when I went into the
chat room Jaws kept telling me different percentages, making it hard to hear
the speaker. Is there a way to get rid of both of these annoyances? Thanks,
Judith
