Not kidding, they wanted it to be a window, but that is a mute point right now. I have it where I want it. Well, I hd my Jaws in the system tray at work and someone body who used my desk said they could not find it to get rid of it. My boss told me to put it back in the rotation. Of course now my boss is gone, and it is official that I am not supposed to be sharing my computer so, I put it back in the tray. There is one other advantage I can think of for having Jaws in the system tray for many of us who share a computer with others as I do mainly at work but also occasionally here at home. Sighted people often do not like working with Jaws running, very particularly on Web pages where the image jumps about following the virtuous cursor. Visually and mouse oriented as these sighted people very reasonably are, they can find jaws in the system tray and in the language they use, "X" it off. I have known some to mute the sound on the sound card which really screws up access but that is another story for another day. There is no definitive answer, because it's a personal preference thing, nothing more, nothing less. If it's in the system tray (which has nothing whatsoever, by the way, to do with the start JAWS automatically setting), it's more out of the way, that's all.
