problem with Jaws 8 and Abbyy Fine Reader 8

Hi All
With the help of a sighted friend, who is brilliant with computers, I am now
able to use Abbyy Fine Reader 8 with a great amount of ease.
However, my next problem is Jaws 8:
Jaws 8 just "refuses" to read some of the dialogue boxes; Jaws 8 just
freezes.
When using Jaws 7.1 I have no problem what so ever.
It appears as if Jaws 8, for some or other reason, starts to use about 90%
of the CPU; giving Fine Reader no chance.
Does anybody please have an explanation or help?
