Hi.  The way to get JAWS to read an item in this list is to press enter on it, 
then F6.  See if that works.

  Did you use insert+f1 pressed twice quickly whilst in Powerpoint, to invoke 
Jaws help?.  There are links to the keysstrokes, Getting started with 
Powerpoint and helpful hints within the help topic.
