If you have the office suite you will probably have a spelling tab.  This
tells you that you have a spell checker, but if there is no spelling tab,
you don't have a spell checker.  A lot of people don't have a spell checker
and this is why.

On the JFW lite web page there is a free OE spell checker you can download.

Perhaps I'm not quite understanding this post, but I'm using Outlook Express
6.00.2800.1123; when I select Tools>Options the following tabs are across
the top:
General, Read, Receipts, Send, Compose, Signatures, Spelling, Security,
Connection and Maintenance.  Additionally, Spelling... is F7 off the Tools
menu.  If you really do have a version 6 of OE then I don't see why it's not
showing up.  This is the way it has shown on my machine all the way back to
JAWS 4.x and I'm using 5.00.844 now.
