When adobe was installed it should have made the .pdf associate it with the program. You can fix it. When you have the file highlighted open the file menu and arrow down until you find open with and press enter on it. Here you can choose the program you would like to use. There is also a check box to tell it always use the selected program each time you open this type of file. Robert To find me you can do the following.
