Does this happen all the time?
Do you keep your scanner on all the time? If not, it sounds like your
scanner is not loading unless turned on at bootup.
Do you have the proper scanner selected in OpenBook?

Is there any way to use jaws in open book instead of the speech they use?
Also does anyone know why I have to reboot to get open book to scan. I still
have jfw 4.02 and win xp home. I have open book on the desk top and unless I
boot I get scanner failed. Thanks, David
