     Jack!  Your information may be a little dated.  The software DEC-Talk
called Access 32 only costs $60 or $70 and the only hardware DEC-Talk
currently being manufactured called the DEC-Talk USB costs $650.00.  Now
there was the DEC-Talk called DEC Express which got up to $1,100 or so at
one point but that was discontinued a couple of years ago.
     When the original DEC-Talk came out in 1980 or so the voice was really
the best there was and it has endured the test of time.  It is still
regarded as one of the very best synthesized voices available and it does
have something of a cult following.
