If you get a professional OS other than Vista, you'll still need to
upgrade to JFW Pro (see earlier thread). JFW 5.X should work fine here,
as I'm actually using an old copy on a networked training machine right
now with solid results.

Hi there,
It depends on what you want to do with this new computer. The
following is just my general recommendations:
* I recommend that you get at least a desktop with the following:
* CPU: at least Intel Core II Duo at 1.66 GHz.
* Memory, at least 512 MB RAM (1 GB is recommended).
* Hard drive: at least 80 GB hard drive (120 GB is recommended).
* You can use either XP or Vista. For XP, I recommend XP Pro.
For Vista, I recommend Vista Business.
For laptops, I recommend that you get a mid-range laptop (between
$600 to $800) made from Toshiba, Sony, HP and others.
Since you have JAWS 5.1, a best choice for you might be the
following:
* CPU: Intel Core II Duo
* Windows XP Professional (JAWS 8.0.1163 and higher should be
used with Vista)
* 80 GB hard drive
* 512 MB of RAM.
Cheers,
Joseph
