My advice is not to worry about any of it; don't worry about the processor type or speed, the video card, the sound card, none of it will make any difference to jaws. None of it will make any difference to you as a user. Having a little more memory than average will help some, so I'd recommend 512 mb of ram, but that's about the only specification I think is worth your attention. Much more important to you is whether you buy a laptop or a desktop system. Here, there's no doubt what-so-ever in my mind, buy a laptop of some sort. You can usually choose between bigger and more powerful and more expandible, or smaller and lighter, so your choice should be based on how much you plan to carry it around. If it's going to be sitting on a desk most of the time (like mine), don't pay the extra for one of the very small very light models, buy one of the desktop replacements. They're still quite light (under 8 pounds) and easily moved when needed, and that's my point; that is, a blind person may need to take their adapted computer to places where only unadapted computers are available. There's pretty much nothing you can't do with a laptop of today, and there's so much more you can do if you own one, this is where you should be concentrating your decision.
