The only thing that doesn't use menues is Office 2007. Vista itself, and
one can assume 7 as well, still use the start menu etc. It's just been
enhanced slightly.

I am using JAWS10 and Microsoft Windows Vista 64 and I love it.
It makes good use of your memory and runns lovely.
Get as much ram as you can afford.
You can always keep your options open and wait for Microsoft Windows 7, I
have tried the RTM version and it is faster than Vista and it is really
good.
