Ray,

Here's the Sun Java page with a description of Access Bridge and links for downloading current version 2.0.1:

http://java.sun.com/products/accessbridge/

Note. I didn't bother with the special Sun download manager, as recommended on that page. I just clicked on the Access Bridge link itself, saved to my desktop, and then let the application's wizard take over. It's a very smooth process.

So, I reinstall Java access bridge then? Where can I find that; assuming I lost it somewhere? Sounds like your help has so far been the most helpful. Thanks.

Hi, Gerald and Ray,

I had many of these problems with Amazon and other websites until I handled Java correctly. Each time I accept a Java update, I go back to my Java Access Bridge .exe file and reinstall it, as Sun Micro recommends. this two-step procedure has solved almost all my Web problems using Firefox, which has numerous advantages over IE7, including speed at opening pages, low generation of temporary files, the Webvisum feature, and so on. I have the latest release of JAWS 10 and XP.

To be perfectly honest Ray, I have so many issues with Firefox that I use it only for the Webvisum image captia feature. I find that JAWS does not always announce the contents of a web page accurately, and of course, there is no audible notification of RSS feeds. I have never encountered any problem with Amazon.com using IE 7.

I really loved Firefox. Why loved instead of love, simple. When I went to: www.dominos.com to order Pizza one night, Firefox kept crashing on me every single time I went to add my order to their shopping card. This also happened every single time I tried to log on to: www.amazon.com and I could get no help at all from tech support what so ever. The forum was worse than useless and no matter what I tried, I just couldn't get it to work. Has anybody else out there had this happen; and, if so, what were you able to do to fix it; if it was fixable?

Also, I noticed that JAWS was not reading Firefox dialogs such as security alerts such as when you are about to open a secure page ETC.

Sincerely, The Constantly BAREFOOTED Ray
