You don't get it. When I land on a web page that contains RSS feeds, I want some kind of audible notification like I get in IE. In IE, Windows plays a sound when feeds are discovered, and JAWS announces "RSS Feeds". There is no such notification in Firefox. Also, in Firefox, RSS feeds or so-called "live Bookmarks" are kept in the same list as regular bookmarks, so there is no way for a blind user to distinguish the bookmarks containning RSS feeds from the rest of the bookmarks without scrolling through the entire list of bookmarks. (I believe there is some sort of visual indicator thatidentifies a live bookmark, but that is of no help to a blind user.) This is pretty cumbersome if you have a few hundred bookmarks. In IE, RSS feeds are kept in a separate list from Favorites, so they are instantly accessible. This is important to me, since I am subscribed to more than 100 feeds.

Firefox can accommodate a .opml extension which you can use to import your feeds from Juice or where ever you collect your feeds from. Each time I accept a Java update, I go back to my Java Access Bridge .exe file and reinstall it, as Sun Micro recommends. this two-step procedure has solved almost all my Web problems using Firefox, which has numerous advantages over IE7, including speed at opening pages, low generation of temporary files, the Webvisum feature, and so on. I have the latest release of JAWS 10 and XP. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gerald Levy" <bwaylimited@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 24, 2009 8:04 AM To be perfectly honest Ray, I have so many issues with Firefox that I use it only for the Webvisum image captia feature. I find that JAWS does not always announce the contents of a web page accurately, and of course, there is no audible notification of RSS feeds. I have never encountered any problem with Amazon.com using IE 7. Why loved instead of love, simple. When I went to:www.dominos.com to order Pizza one night, Firefox kept crashing on meevery single time I went to add my order to their shopping card. This alsohappened every single time I tried to log on to: www.amazon.com and I could get no help at all from tech support what so ever. The forum was worse than useless and no matter what I tried, I just couldn't get it to work. Has anybody else out there had this happen; and, if so, what were you able to do to fix it; if it was fixable? Also, I noticed that JAWS was not reading Firefox dialogs such as securityalerts such as when you are about to open a secure page ETC.
