That's what I did. The first time I tap it nothing happens, the second
time I tap it the menu bar comes up and when I tap it again the menu
bar disappears but the next time the alt key get stuck again.

Hi to group,

That's my prefered method, to tap the problem ke a few times to get it
to
unstick, this usually works.

Sometimes this is an electronic sticking, not the physical sticking of
the keyboard. I remember one cure, besides restarting, as being to tap
the suspect key

Hi,

Look at the FS knowledgebase. There is an article out there to help. Do
a search for all version of jaws since this problem used to occur in 5.0
I think. I have had had this happen to me to in 7.0 though it is not so
common.

I find that my alt key gets stuck very frequently. For example I have a
keystroke in word that will move me between sections in my document:
alt+down arrow. When I press just my arrows alt+down arrow is pressed
although I just pressed the down arrow. Then when I press the alt key or
the first time nothing happens. When I press it the second time it
activates the menu bar and when I press it a third time it deactivates
the menu bar. I must do this very frequently to release my alt key.

Any help on how I can fix the alt key permanently?

Thanks
