yes, that's what merge settings is supposed to do, but that's not what I did 
for me. not only did I have to redo my classic laptop setting, but my speech 
rate for IE wasn't changed either. who knows what other changes it didn't pick 
up.

  Merge picks up Jaws settings and scripts. For those of us who are lazy and 
forgetful, it comes in handy. Some people do like to start with an untainted 
copy of the new version.

    go to utilities menu, then select merge utilities then select the version 
you want to merge with.
